The video above was an experiment with merging 2D imagery with 3D animation to form a video.
The idea behind the video is to experiment with how a simple corridor can become a contained scene of chaos. Even though the subjects are basic, ordinary objects with no sinister value upfront, in this scene they seem to take on a different feeling. They feel very sinister and give the impression that something more, something out of control, is happening.
I took a photo from a high angle to mirror CCTV angles. I then took this image into the program Cinema 4D. In this program I built up a virtual 3D version of the corridor, overlaid with the photo of the real corridor. I then proceeded to create a sphere object with a timed cloner to continually produce more and more spheres. Attaching physical properties to the spheres resulted in them repelling each other when they spawned due to overlapping coordinates, causes the increasing chaos.
